WalkerHughes Insurance Names The Synapsory 'Charity of the Quarter'

7/9/2026 | Colleen Farnan

At WalkerHughes Insurance, community is at the heart of who we are—and it’s even more meaningful when we are able to support the causes close to the hearts of our team. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce our partnership with The Synapsory as our Charity of the Quarter for Q3 2026!

About our Referral Program

At WalkerHughes Insurance, there is no higher compliment than a referral. A referral tells us we've met the mark—that our customers are satisfied with the service provided and trust us enough to recommend us to those closest to them. We know how important your friends and family members are, and we promise to treat them like our own.

To show our appreciation, we’ve created a referral program with heart. For every referral that completes a no-obligation insurance review, WalkerHughes will donate $10 to our Charity of the Quarter. This program supports causes that matter to our team and helps organizations making a difference in our communities.

About The Synapsory

The Synapsory provides free rest, regulation, and renewal for families through therapeutic play equipment in home, church, school, and community settings. Inspired by their daughter, Faith, Terrie and Tom Desloge founded The Synapsory with the motivation to help families of disabled children by providing environments where everyone feels safe, supported, and understood.

They have created Calming Kits and the Synapsory Snuggle blanket to ease sensory overload and offer quick respite when needed at home and in the community. To empower local groups to have more positive interactions with children with developmental disabilities and better deescalate overwhelming situations, The Synapsory has provided churches, schools, and hospitals with sensory regulation kits. They have donated over 500 Calming Kits to over 20 police departments in Missouri and Tennessee.

The Synapsory designs and builds sensory and motor spaces that help children regulate through therapeutic play while giving families a chance to rest, reconnect, and break patterns of isolation. Their welcoming, expertly designed environments provide a safe space where children with diverse abilities can thrive, and parents can experience meaningful relief. They have implemented over 20 sensory motor rooms in churches and schools.

Why The Synapsory?

The Synapsory was nominated by our Community Engagement Coordinator, Colleen Farnan, who is based out of Ballwin, MO. Colleen has been inspired by The Synapsory’s compassion for the neurodivergent and special needs community, especially their mission of providing regulation tools in public spaces, allowing for more inclusivity. She has seen firsthand how their Calming Kits can provide peace and comfort in overwhelming moments at home and in the community.

The Synapsory’s impact is continuing to grow! They have recently donated five Synapsory Sensory Motor Rooms to under-resourced schools in St. Louis and are continuing to raise funds for more under-resourced schools. Thanks to generous donations, The Synapsory will be providing 100 Synapsory Calming Kits and 10 Synapsory Snuggles to One Classroom in St. Louis to empower their teachers to better serve students. Additionally, they are currently donating a Synapsory sensory motor room to the Annuziata School and Parish in St. Louis.
